Roche appointed Mace to a global framework in 2014. Following projects in USA and Australia, we were appointed to provide project management and cost consultancy services for the fit out of new offices in Hertford Office Park, Johannesburg. The commercial park provides easy access to Gautrain and the airport and has good public transport links. The move will help support Roche’s growth, providing better quality facilities which meet international standards. The new property consolidates the diagnostics and diabetes departments into one 5,000 square metre building. 

Business growth and staff enrichment Providing better office facilities will not just help Roche’s business growth, but will help with staff wellbeing, enabling them to work effectively in purpose built, conveniently located, high standard facilities. The building’s four floors also contain a canteen and training centre for Roche’s employees. Paragon Interiors is the architect and interior designer, while Abland, the developer of the building, is providing engineering consultancy services and acting as contractor for the fit out. Our role is to work on behalf of Roche as project manager and quantity surveyor, ensuring timelines and budgets are met. The centre opened in August 2016, in coordination with the lease expiration of the current training centre.
